1978 Rickenbacker 4080 Double Neck Bass/Guitar

If the economy didn't suck, I'd keep it! It is in excellent condition for a 31 year old, and the only white one (not yellow) I have ever seen in my time playing and collecting guitars and vintage 4's since 1965. I have owned everything at one time or another, and still have have a few. I'm not a dealer, I just sometimes sell a nice guitar or bass when I need money or space. If you go to http://www.rickbeat.com/ for serial numbers, click models, scroll down and click 4080, you will see this one, not one like it, this one! Serial number RJ 5897 (Oct.1978). Includes the OHSC in very good condition, factory installed Schaller strap locks, and a vintage leather strap.

* I went to the Rickenbacker website and all 4080's have bolt on necks with plates.

** ALL OF THE POTS ARE ORIGINAL AND HAVE MATCHING CTS DATE CODES 137 7821. I checked all pots and switches. Perfect operation and no scratch or hum. The pickup cavity is signed JJD 4080 and Frank. The 3 mini toggle switches were in installed at Mick's Guitar Center in Landshudt, Germany on December 9, 1998, as shown by the sticker on the back of the pickguard, which is also shielded. This makes sense, since I bought it from Christian Postl in Germany in 2001. All 3 mini toggles are about tone. They function the same way on the guitar, adding many variations and sounds. The original wiring has not been bothered, and the mini toogle can easily be removed. I would did not, because they add so much to the sound. This is a beautiful instrument!
